A Student Project Turned Free Tool

Created in Casablanca, Morocco • 2026

Our Story

mbPDF started as a Master's degree project at a university in Casablanca, Morocco. As a computer science student, I noticed how difficult it was to find reliable, free document conversion tools that respect user privacy.

Many online converters either charge money, add watermarks, require registration, or worse - store your documents indefinitely. I wanted to create something different: a tool that's truly free, respects your privacy, and works perfectly for students and professionals alike.

Today, mbPDF serves thousands of users worldwide, processing millions of conversions while maintaining our core values: free, secure, and private.

Our Mission

🔓

Free Forever

No hidden costs, no premium tiers. Document conversion should be accessible to everyone.

🛡️

Privacy First

Your documents are automatically deleted after 10 minutes. We never store or share your files.

Fast & Simple

No registration, no watermarks. Just upload, convert, and download.

Master Student in Computer Science

Casablanca, Morocco • 20200

I'm a Master's student at a university in Casablanca, passionate about web development and creating useful tools for the community. mbPDF is my way of giving back - providing a free, reliable document converter that respects user privacy.

Currently pursuing my Master's degree in Computer Science, I built mbPDF from scratch using Next.js, FastAPI, and Oracle Cloud. The entire project is hosted on free tiers to keep it sustainable.

Why We're Free

mbPDF is completely free because:

  • Oracle Cloud Free Tier - We use Oracle's generous free tier (4 CPU, 24GB RAM, 200GB storage) to host our backend.
  • Vercel Hobby Plan - Our frontend is hosted on Vercel's free plan with 100GB bandwidth monthly.
  • Supabase Free Tier - We use Supabase for database and storage within their generous free limits.
  • Open Source Technologies - All our tools (FastAPI, Celery, Redis, Next.js) are open source.

If we ever need to scale beyond free tiers, we'll explore sustainable options like unobtrusive ads or optional donations, always keeping the service free for everyone.
